Well, this morning saw a total eclipse - the first in Oz for a decade. Premium viewing was up in North Queensland and here in Brissy, we had about 84% I'm told.
Toby-the-Dog and I were on our usual early morning walk when it happened. I was stoked to see quite a number of peeps out and about with telescopes, fancy cameras and special glasses. HOPEFULLY they were eclipse-chasers and not just plain weird. In the absence of proper eclipse-viewing specs, I briefly considered whipping out my cardboard 3D glasses from that time I went to see Avatar, but fortunately decided that would be a very bad idea. And just in time too - man, the Aussie sun is BRIGHT! In the event, all that happened was that the whole bay area got rather gloomy for a few minutes and then before I could say 'astrology rocks!' everyone was packing up. I wonder how many school projects were written in the car this morning....
So then it was time for a swift coffee (and bit of editing) in fave cafe - then home to really get stuck into my manuscript.
Ah yes, the hard, hard graft of editing. It's not my forte, that much I've learned. BUT I only have another 2770 words to cull before I can send it back to the publisher.
