I'm stoked. Actually, I'm amazed and/or staggered that somehow or other, I've cut around 25,000 words from my poor battered manuscript. Goodness, I hope it's all the better for it. My fear is that the story will end up a bit like... 'This happened. And then this happened. And then, guess what, THIS happened. Fin.'
However, having been asked by a publisher to reduce the number of words to 70,000, I was almost a little teary when last night - after weeks of trimming, shaping and cajoling excess words to kindly leave the building, the number at the bottom of the page said 70,845. I am officially in the zone!
So - still more work to do, but I think the end is in sight. I never would have thought that I could ever be besties with a delete button, but there it is.
And to celebrate this momentous zone dwelling moment, I'm going to lash out and get my webiste domain name. I'm thinking www.nenedavies.com. if it's available. What do you reckon?
See you soon!
